PetSelect drives sustainability with the “Sustainable Petfood 360” project, beneficiary of the PERTE for Circular Economy.
At PetSelect, we are taking another step towards a responsible production model, committed to the future. The “Sustainable Petfood 360” project has been awarded funding under the 2022 call for grants to promote the circular economy in businesses, launched by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (MITECO), within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), and financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
“Sustainable Petfood 360” is an ambitious initiative to create a Petfood Biofactory, placing sustainability at the very core of its strategy. This new industrial facility has been designed to achieve maximum energy and environmental efficiency, prioritising the use of locally sourced raw materials with a low carbon footprint, and incorporating optimised production processes to minimise ecological impact.
From a commercial perspective, the project focuses on the development of natural, high value-added wet pet food, tailored to meet the demands of today’s consumers and packaged in 100% recyclable formats. These formats are carefully selected to ensure that the final product supports a more responsible consumption model, with a reduced environmental impact, and encourages more sustainable practices throughout the entire value chain.
